Sharon started yoga in 2012 to complement her long-distance running. She perceived it as just a physical workout until she experienced positive changes within and noticed that her practice of being aware, mindful & calm on the mat spreading into her life off the mat.

Interested in pursuing a teacher training course but scared of the challenges ahead, Sharon hesitated for over a year until she finally stepped out of her comfort zone and decided to just do it in 2015. Despite being a certified teacher, Sharon considers herself still a yoga student for life. Aside from yoga, Sharon enjoys good food (especially cakes!), sudoku puzzles and travelling – but not necessarily in that order.

1. Why should people come to The Yoga Co?
People should come to The Yoga Co for it’s cosy and friendly vibes, and dedicated and attentive teachers.  In addition, The Yoga Co caters to absolute newbies as well as experienced practitioners, and from those who desire a challenging and heart-pumping work-out in the Triple Threat Boot Camp to the relaxing and restorative Yin classes.

2. Why do you love yoga?
Aside from the physical aspects, I love yoga as it relieves stress, builds emotional strength, heightens awareness, brings me peace and keeps me grounded.

3. What’s your favourite Disney movie?
Growing up, I loved Mary Poppins.  It used to be shown on TV (in the UK) practically every Christmas and I never got bored with it.  It’s so magical and fun with fantastical adventures – you can say it’s supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

4. If you could have a meal with anyone living or dead, who would it be?
This is a tough one.  It’s a toss up between the eccentric Richard Branson and down-to-earth Michelle Obama.
