10Hr Yoga Immersion Programme
The yoga practice, as it was originally taught, was meant as a practice of spiritual development to train the body and mind to self observe and become aware of ones true nature. This immersion workshop will provide you with the guidance to take your existing yoga practice to a deeper, more personal level.
Ashtanga yoga is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K Pattabhi Jois through experimental perception – learning to perceive higher consciousness in a practitioner through experience. The system combines 7 out of the 8 limbs of yoga – ethical standards (yama), self-discipline (niyama), postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), sense withdrawal (pratyahara), focused concentration (dharana) and meditative absorption (dhyana) – and eventually directs the practitioner towards the last limb of yoga – enlightenment (samadhi).
This 10-hour immersion workshop is suitable for those who are looking to deepen their practice. It includes yogic philosophy, theory, poses (asana) practice and breathing techniques (pranayama).
