Maylis started her yoga journey back a few years ago in Shanghai, China. The quality of Dharana (Concentration) of yoga lured her in immediately, and ever since she devoted herself to the practice. After a few years of working in the international commodity trading company, she decided to resign from her job and pursue yoga.
Now she is a recognized 200HR Hatha/Ashtanga yoga teacher accredited by Yoga Alliance US. But she will never stop learning and deepening her practice and knowledge in yoga. Pilates, Arial Yoga, Reiki, Sound Healing Yoga and Yoga Therapy are also her interests and she is always hungry to explore and learn more.
Maylis can be funny, serious and clueless at times, but one thing’s for sure, when she loves something, she is deeply committed to it. This is her mantra in life and it is the same with Yoga. She believes yoga is all about unification of Mind, Body and Soul. We should perfect our own practice and not bother about others. Ultimately, it’s between you and your mat.
1. Why should people come to The Yoga Co?
It’s a cosy place to start your journey. Our small class sizes bring more attention from our teachers. We also want to let everyone know that yoga is for everybody – it’s not about the fancy Instagram poses, it’s all about you and yourself.
2. What can you expect from my class?
Laughter, sweat, and sore muscles the next day, haha. Useful tips and tricks on how to go in and out of poses safely and correctly. Most importantly, I want you to know that you are better than you think you are and your body can amaze you if you treat it correctly!
3. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
A cat!!! I must’ve been a cat in my previous life. I have cat senses, I can relate to cats, and my friends tell me I behave like cats sometimes… #notcrazy.

With focus and intention, I can shape my energy in any direction that I desire.
